JEWEL TONES

Stories about today's look....

Story #1 - I was in a super long line at a store today and noticed that a cute little girl kept looking at me. We eventually made eye contact and smiled at one another. A few seconds later, she looked at me again and said "are you rich"? I laughed and said "ahhhh...NO" then she said "oh cause you look like it". LOL LOL LOL

Story #2
I got in my car after story #1 and closed my jacket in the door. 2 of the jeweled buttons broke!!! So much for looking rich now!! Haaaaaaaaa

VINTAGE EARRINGS

Hey Dolls,
I love vintage jewelry and over the years I've acquired quite the collection. Below I share some of my favorite vintage earrings....

Acrylic Tulips

Hammered Silver

Leopard Fur and Amber Stones

Gold with Multi Colored Gemstones

Silver Cable and Black Crystals
(a couple of stones are missing now)

Crystal and Chain Dangle

Gold Crosses with Heart Bases Covered in Various Gemstones

ALL
These are just some of my faves. I also have necklaces, bracelets, brooches and rings that I'm keeping for posterity sake. I hope my daughter and her daughters enjoy my vintage collection as much as I did!

DARE TO BE DIFFERENT

Hey Dolls,
When I started this blog my main goal was to prove that style has no size. The issue used to be that the bigger you were, the harder it was to find fashion. Thanks to Asos Curve, Lane Bryant, SimplyBe, Macy's, Nordstrom, Evans, Dillard's, Jibri, Monif C., and many others, that is no longer an issue for us plus size women. The only issue is how are you going to rock it?

One of my favorite quotes is "FASHION IS WHAT YOU BUY, STYLE IS WHAT YOU DO WITH IT" (not sure who wrote this variation but I believe the concept was started by Coco Chanel).

Full Figured Fashion Week is quickly approaching and my creative juices are flowing. Seeing all the pictures from fashion shows across the globe and most recently the Met Gala, have really got my style imagination running wild. Style is about throwing the rules (you know all the ones that say big girls shouldn't wear this or that) out the window!

You must dare to be different (within your comfort zone). You must also accept the fact that some folks will get it and others will not. Style is like art! Don't let the fear of what others may say hinder your desire to do YOU!
Net Sleeve Bodysuit: Asos Curve
Super Short Shorts (yes, I'm wearing shorts and not undies): Lane Bryant
Sheer Skirt: Vintage (I cut out the lining)
Scarf: African Print Material
Shoeties: Anne Klein
Belt and Earrings: Lane Bryant

I can't wait to show you what I'm putting together! Will you be at fffweek in New York this year? Hope to see you there!

With LOVE,
Kiah
